Ahead of the Royal International Air Tattoo and the Farnborough Air Show in the UK, the Gripen team is delighted to publish its latest online issue of 'Gripen News' magazine. In a new development, our popular magazine is now produced as an online publication, with an automatic page turner to make your favourite Gripen magazine even easier to read!
To mark this landmark event, the Saab Gripen team has produced a special issue of its popular magazine ‘Gripen News’. ‘Gripen News Special Edition-Gripen Demo’ (23 April 2008), features an exclusive insight into the Gripen Demo programme with a comprehensive review of the key technical and programme features, an exclusive interview with Gripen International MD Johan Lehander and the chance to get up close and personal with Gripen Demo Chief Test Pilot Mikael Seidl. 
In this special edition of ‘Gripen News’, dedicated to Gripen’s success in the Czech Republic, we feature Mr Martin Bartak MD, First Deputy Minister for Defence, commenting on how the Gripen offset programme has supported Czech companies becoming successful on the export market . Also, we feature some of the Czech companies that have been involved in the Gripen offset programme and their CEO’s explaining the positive effects the Gripen offset has had on their companies. In addition, we focus on the successful operation of Gripen fighters in NATO service with the Czech Air Force.
This latest issue of 'Gripen News' includes a report on Thailand's decision to select the Gripen to meet its national defence needs, features on the how the Saab/Gripen team intend to meet the Indian Air Force's MMRCA requirement for 126 multi-role fighters, the Gripen Demonstrator programme and the Swedish government's contract awards to Saab for the creation of an upgraded and common standard of Gripen fighters for the Swedish Air Force fleet and the Cobra helmet mounted display system. This issue also looks at the historic and highly successful Hungarian Air Force Gripen deployment to Italy to take part in 'Spring Flag 2007', as well the Swedish Air Force Gripen deployments to the UK to to take part in combat training exercises as well its participation in the annual Nordic Air Meet in Sweden. This bumper issue also takes a look at Saab's rich avaiation heritage as it celebrates 70 years at the leading edge of military aviation, as well as updates on the Gripen team's expanding online services and features.
2007
This latest issue of 'Gripen News' includes features on how the Norwegian government has signed an historic agreement with Sweden to invest in Gripen as a candidate for the next generation fighter for the Royal Norwegian Air Force. A two-page special on how Saab/Gripen took centre stage at the recent Aero India show in Bangalore, India. How the ‘North Arrow’ exercise saw the deployment of Czech Air Force Gripens and the use its air-to-air weapons fit in a live fire exercise for the first time, and how the Gripen team is drawing on its unique depth of experience in ensuring that the Link 16 datalink system is being smoothly and seamlessly integrated into the Gripen system. In addition, this issue of ‘GN’ includes a profile of Lt.Col. Robert Persson of 1 Squadron at the Swedish Air Force Base F7, the Centre of Excellence for the Gripen family of export customers.

To celebrate the delivery into service of South Africa's first Gripen fighter on 30 April 2008, this special edition 'Success Story South Africa' focuses on the many successes which the Gripen programme has already achieved for South Africa and the South African people. Reviewing the aircraft programme, the extensive industrial participation offset ventures and the very real impact the programme has had on ordinary South Africans, this 'Gripen News' special provides a an excellent insight into the continuing South African success story.
In this special edition of Gripen News dedicated to Gripens success in Hungary we feature Dr Szabó Sándor from the Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Transport commenting on the long term economic benefits that Gripen has brought to Hungary. Also we feature some of the new business and investment opportunities created from the Gripen offset program and also an update on the Gripen aircraft program in Hungary.
