Indian Air Force Chief Tyagi Visits Gripen team

Today at Aero India 2007, the opening day of the exhibition, the Gripen team were doubly honoured, by a visit to the Gripen Pavilion from Chief of the Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshall S P Tyagi and the next Chief of the Air Force, Air Marshall Major. During the visit, they both had discussions with Gripen International’s Director, India Tony Ogilvy, Gripen International’s Sales & Marketing Director Bob Kemp and Chief of the Swedish Air Force Jan Andersson.

Gripen Cockpit Simulator Launched

Also at today’s show, the brand new state-of-the-art Gripen Cockpit Simulator (GCS), made its public debut, and it was a very busy first day! Throughout the day, the GCS was visited by a number of senior IAF dignitaries, including former Air Force Chief Krishnaswamy (see photo), IAF pilots and other VIP’s, all of whom were given the opportunity of getting up close and personal with the Gripen new generation fighter. The Gripen GCS team will be conducting a series of demonstrations of the GCS throughout the show.


 

Gripen Press Conference

Following the Gripen team’s successful press briefing to over sixty Indian and international media representatives on Monday in Bangalore, the Gripen team will be staging its official press conference at the Aero India show on Thursday 8 February at 11.00 in the Gripen Pavilion (see photo). The press conference will feature Saab’s Deputy CEO Ingemar Andersson, Gripen International’s Director, India Tony Ogilvy, Gripen International’s Communications Director Owe Wagermark and Swedish Air Force Gripen pilot Capt. Martin Ramsin.
